Asha workers’ salary is continuously delayed by the PMC health department!

| The union warned to complain to the labor department

PMC Health Department – (The Karbhari News Service) – Pune Municipal Corporation Health Department (Pune Municipal Corporation Health Department) does not seem to be paying the salaries of Asha workers on time. Even after complaining for many months, there is no improvement. This delay is due to the indifference of the health office (PMC Bhandarkar Road Office) on Bhandarkar Road of the Municipal Corporation. Asha Workers Union has warned the health chief of the municipal corporation to complain to the labor department if the wages are not paid on time. (Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC)

On behalf of Pune Municipal Corporation (Pune Municipal Corporation), central and state government health schemes are implemented. It includes various health related programs. These include RCH (Reproductive And Child Health) and NUHM (National Urban Health Mission) schemes in particular. In this RCH was started from 2006-07 and NUHM from 2016. Most of these works are done by Asha workers. In return they are paid. But this salary is not done on time. Salary is sometimes on 19th and sometimes on 23rd of the month. Asha workers are suffering due to this.

Union has complained about this to the health chief. According to the union’s letter, an inspection of the file under the RTI Act shows that there is a delay in the preparation of the file by the concerned staff from the Bhandarkar Road office after all the data is collected. After that, even after the signature of the concerned officer, it takes time to actually send the salary details to the bank. After finding out the exact reasons for this and correcting it, the salary of Asha Worker N.H.M. We demand that it should be removed on time like other categories of employees. Otherwise we have to complain to labor department. This warning has been given by the union.

The union further said that there are also personal complaints of non-payment of salaries by some Asha workers. With Aadhaar link, bank account issues, difficulties in reporting on time, etc. being the reasons behind it, their issues need to be resolved in a timely manner. But it seems to be neglected by the concerned employees. Their phones are not answered, messages are not answered. If Asha Worker himself followed up, he would be heard being silenced with rude replies. An Asha worker was asked by an employee, “So what should I commit suicide?” This was countered. This is a serious matter and there is a lot of dissatisfaction among Asha workers due to such behavior. The organization has warned that the health chief should pay attention to this and give them understanding, otherwise the organization will have to protest and correct this behavior.

Regarding delay and deduction of state government salary and also state government is giving aggregate salary of 15000 every three months to Asha worker. This is also not available on time. E.g. of State Govt. to pay remuneration for October to December 2023
The order dated 9/10 January 2024 has been inwarded to the Municipal Corporation on 23 January 2024. His though
Actual payment received by Asha Worker on 30 March 2024. Also from January to March 2023
The payment order has been issued on 15 March 2024. He hasn’t got it yet, and
Regarding satisfactory reply when asked at Bhandarkar Road office
Not received from employees. Also, the remuneration of many Asha workers is deducted from this remuneration. Reasons should be given in writing. Although some Asha workers make inquiries, the concerned staff avoids giving details.
Asha workers are paid based on work to earn a living. Considering that many families depend on that money, we demand that it be credited to their accounts by the 5th of the month. This is what the organization said. Also no unfair deductions should be made. In order to eliminate the problems faced by this, as the head of health, he should pay attention and take steps for improvement. This has been demanded.

Monopoly of Bhandarkar Road office staff!

The Municipal Health Department has appointed a separate cadre of staff for the work of NUHM. These employees have been given space in the office owned by the Municipal Corporation on Bhandarkar Road. They are controlled by the Health Officer. But the employees here have made their own monopoly. Even the orders of the health authorities are not followed by these people. Due to this, the officers are suffering. Interestingly, since this office is far from the Municipal Corporation, a CCTV camera was installed to control the employees here. But this camera itself has been broken. It is currently closed. So the employee cannot be controlled. The employees here have decided their own time to come to the office. Apart from that, vacations are also taken according to your own mind. As a result, Asha workers are getting late wages; But this is affecting the functioning of NUHM. Alternatively, the city’s health system is at risk. Therefore, action should be taken against the employees who create monopoly. This is being demanded.
