 Pune Municipal Corporation appealed to the people of Pune to conduct a survey of the Maratha community and open category citizens

 Maratha Samaj Survey in Pune City|  Pune PMC |  A survey has been started from Tuesday (January 23) to check the economic and social backwardness of the Maratha community in Maharashtra.  Maharashtra State Commission for Backward Classes has published a notification in this regard.  The survey will be conducted door-to-door among the Maratha and open category people during eight days from January 23 to January 31, 2024.  (Pune Municipal Corporation News)
 It is necessary to create awareness among the citizens and appeal for cooperation.  For this work, the Government of Maharashtra has entrusted the task of checking the backwardness of the Maratha community to the Maharashtra State Commission for Backward Classes.  Accordingly, a survey of Maratha community and open category citizens is also being conducted in Pune city.  The survey will be completed from 23rd to 31st January through 2007 enumerator appointed by Pune Municipal Corporation.  The said survey will be conducted from house to house within the municipality limits through livedata entry on the mobile app.  (Pune PMC News)
 In this regard, the Pune Municipal Corporation has appealed to the citizens of Pune.  The Municipal Corporation has said that during this period, we should be present at home and cooperate with the survey by giving information to the enumerator of the Municipal Corporation who is coming for the survey.
 | How to identify the enumerator of Pune Municipal Corporation?
 The said enumerator will have an identity card issued by the Maharashtra State Backward Classes Commission.  Also, MSBCC will record the mark of this method on the house visited for survey.

 What questions will be asked in the survey?
 Are widows allowed to apply kunkun on their foreheads in your society?
 Is there a rule that married women must cover their heads?
 Is there a way to slaughter a rooster or buck for a vigil or other ritual?
 This survey will be conducted by asking a total of 154 questions.
 Commission for Backward Classes has fixed a questionnaire for this survey.  Accordingly, mainly five types of questions will be asked.
 In this module A total of 14 questions will be asked about basic information of your family, your name, address, whether you are a Maratha, if not, what is your caste.
 In which house do you live in Module B?  Is your family joint or separate?  What is the traditional occupation of your caste?  what do you do now  Are there representatives of the people in your family?  There will be total 20 such questions.
 In Module ‘C’ an attempt will be made to know the financial situation of your family.
 Do you have a toilet in your house?
 Do you have a farm?  If so, in whose name is it?
 How Much Debt Does Your Family Have?
 Have you sold real estate in the last fifteen years?
 Does a woman in your family go to other people’s houses to wash dishes, cook, clean trees?  There will be total 76 such questions.
 The backwardness of the society will be examined in module ‘D’ of this questionnaire.
 Is there a custom of dowry in your community?
 Are widows allowed to wear Mangalsutra?
 Who decides the marriage of children in your family?
 Has anyone in your family committed suicide in the last ten years?
 There will be total 33 such questions.
 And in Module ‘E’ a total of eleven questions will be asked about family health.  So by asking a total of 154 questions it will be decided whether your family is socially or economically backward or not.
