 |  Regular tuition fees on a certain date, will repair hostels immediately – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s testimony

Resident Doctors Strike |  Mumbai |  Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar today assured that the Resident Doctors Stipend of the state will be paid regularly on a fixed date of every month along with a substantial increase of 10 thousand rupees.  All the demands of the resident doctors have been accepted and the Deputy Chief Minister appealed to them to call off their proposed strike.  Responding to this appeal, the Central Mard Organization has withdrawn its proposed strike.
Under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, a meeting was held regarding the demands of the Central Mard Organization in his hall in the Ministry.  Minister of Medical Education Hasan Mushrif, Principal Secretary of Planning Department Saurabh Vijay, Principal Secretary of Medical Education Department Dinesh Waghmare, Director of Directorate of Medical Education and Research Dr.  Dilip Mhaisekar, as well as officials of the Central Mard Organization were present.
Regarding the complaints of hostels attached to medical colleges, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that it is very necessary to repair the hostels of resident doctors.  Therefore, the Public Works Department should undertake the repair work of the hostels immediately.  Construction of hostels sanctioned in various districts should be speeded up.  The government while approving the new medical college has included the hostel in its plan.  Hence, the doctors in the new colleges will be provided with good quality hostels from day one.  Funds for renovation of existing hostels have been disbursed.  Therefore, the Public Works Department should give priority to this work and start the repair work immediately.  No laxity will be tolerated.  He also said that after the budget session of the state, the action of the decisions taken today will be reviewed.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, while directing the urgent repair of the hostels of resident doctors in the state, said that during the repair of the hostels, it is necessary to arrange accommodation for the students in other places.  However, there are difficulties in getting alternative vacant rooms in the premises of medical education department hospitals.  In such cases, a certain rent should be given to the students in needy places so that they can take rooms on rent.  He also directed that alternative rooms should be made available to them wherever possible.
