Public awareness about dengue by Pune Municipal Health Department on the occasion of National Dengue Day
PMC Health Department – (The Karbhari News Service) – As per the guidelines of the Central Government, “National Dengue Day” was celebrated on May 16 by Pune Municipal Health Office Pest Control Department in order to create public awareness about dengue. This information was given by Assistant Health Officer Dr Suryakant Deokar.
This year’s National Dengue Day slogan – “Be in touch with the community, control dengue. It is like that.
As the Aedes aegypti mosquito that spreads dengue breeds in clean water, on the occasion of the National Dengue Days, a public awareness program was implemented through the Pest Control Department 15 Kshatriya Office as follows:
– Prabhat Feri / Padyatra as well as bike rally was conducted.
– Citizens were sensitized by distribution of brochures/handouts.
– Public awareness was done by putting stickers at labor colony, vegetable market, bus station and various establishments.
– Demonstration of dengue mosquito / mosquito larvae (breeding), guppy fish was shown.
– Private medical practitioners were called upon to meet and implement dengue prevention measures.
Citizens were sensitized by giving detailed information about dengue disease.
– Assistant Health Officer of Pune Municipal Corporation Dr. On behalf of Suryakant Deokar, all citizens were appealed to observe a dry day.
