Antyoday Sharmik Suraksha Yojana | Recognizing the great contribution of labor in the development of our country, for their economic stability and welfare, the Government of India in coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Employment and India Post Payments Bank of India Post has implemented “Antyodaya Shramik Suraksha Durghatana Yojana” (ASSY) for the labor of our country. This visionary scheme is available to the laborers of the country at a very low cost and provides accident insurance protection.
Antyodaya Shramik Suraksha Yojana was pilot launched on 8th July 2023 at Nadiad, Kheda district of Gujarat.
Key Features of Antyodaya Shramik Suraksha Yojana:
1. Comprehensive Insurance Cover: This includes Rs 10 lakh and Rs. 5 lakhs along with accident insurance to meet the unique needs of the workforce including disability benefits, hospitalization benefits etc. Benefits include:
2. Low Premium: 10 Lakh Insurance for All Levels of Labor at Only Rs.499/- Annually. 5 Lakhs insurance is made available at a very discounted rate at a premium rate of just Rs 289/- per annum.
3. Easy Enrollment Process: Workers can enroll for this insurance very easily through the nearest Post Office/Postman/Gramin Dak Sevak.
4. All India Coverage: After the success of this scheme in Gujarat, now this scheme has been implemented all over the country and any labor can avail it.
This scheme is available in all post offices of Ahmednagar, Pune, Satara, Solapur district in Pune postal area. A special campaign is being implemented for this scheme from February 20.
Workers in all the above four districts can register for this insurance at the nearest post office or by contacting their postman or Gramin Dak Sevak. The Post Master General of Pune region requested that all the citizens take advantage of this scheme. It has been done by Ramchandra Jaybhaye.
