The Karbhari News Service – The Lok Sabha general election in the state will be held in five phases and voting will be held on April 19, 26, May 7, May 13 and May 20. The Election Commission of India accepts 12 forms of identity proof other than voter photo ID for voting. The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer has informed that the concerned will be able to vote after showing any one of these proofs.

As per the order of Election Commission of India for Lok Sabha General Election, the voters who have voter ID card with photo will present voter ID card with photo for identification at the polling station. Voters who will not be able to present voter ID card with photograph, any proof other than voter ID card will be accepted for identification of voters.

Apart from the election ID card given to the voters at the time of voting, these proofs include passport, driving license, photo ID card issued by central or state government, as well as public sector undertakings, public limited companies to their employees, passbook issued by bank or postal department with photo. , PAN Card, Smart Card issued by Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner under National Population Register, Employment Identity Card issued under MGNREGA, Pension Document, Official Identity Card issued to Members of Parliament, Legislative Assembly, Legislative Council, Aadhaar Card, on behalf of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India 12 proofs to be considered for voting are special identity card issued to disabled persons, health insurance smart card issued by Ministry of Labour. Indian travelers will need their original passport to prove their identity.

If a voter has changed his address in the electoral roll, but has not yet received a new identity card, the previous identity card will be accepted. But that person’s name must be in the electoral roll with the existing address. Also, at least five days before the date of polling, information slips will be distributed by the Election Office to all the registered voters with information about the polling station, list part number, polling date, time etc. The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer has requested that the voters should carry the information-sheet and photo ID card along with them while going to the polling station.
