Santosh Lalwani ends 10 days fast in support of Ladakh
The karbhari News Service – The famous education reformer, innovator and environmentalist from Ladakh, Magsaysay award winner Sonam Wangchuk was on a 21 days Climate Fast demanding the rights for Ladakhi tribal community by asking to implementat the 6th schedule of constitution in Ladakh. The Climate fast was for truth, environment and democracy.
Friends of Ladakh group were formed in nimber of cities in India. Number of members of Friends of Ladakh, Pune group fasted for one day on 17th March. Santosh Lalwani continued the fast for 10 days. He decided to support Sonam and Ladakh by fasting for as many days as Sonam is fasting. After Sonam ended his 21 days Climate fast yesterday, Santosh Lalwani ended his 10 days Climate fast at the hands of Ladakhi students at Vetal Tekdi in Pune.
Senior expert on Himalayan fragile ecosystem and Ladakh Shri Vijay Paranjpye, Shri Ashish Kothari from Vikalp Sangam and Smt. Suniti Su. R. , National Convenor of National Alliance for Peoples Movement (NAPM) addressed the gathering on the issues of Ladakh. Sonam Wangchuk through a video call interacted with the gathering and appreciated Santosh Lalwani for his 10 days fast.
