Pune Municipal Corporation issues WhatsApp number for complaints of abandoned vehicles
PMC Pune Encroachment Department | On behalf of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Encroachment Department, a drive against abandoned vehicles has been undertaken. If such a vehicle is found on the road or footpath, the vehicle will be impounded. The owner of the car can be fined from 5 thousand to 25 thousand for getting rid of that car. The encroachment department has also started sending notices to such people. Accordingly, 139 vehicles have also been confiscated. Also, if citizens want to report an abandoned vehicle, the department has issued a WhatsApp number 9689931900. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Madhav Jagtap. Abandoned/abandoned vehicles, abandoned damaged vehicles are being found on roads, footpaths etc. within Pune Municipal Corporation limits. As such vehicles stop on the road, the traffic is obstructed and it is observed that due to the non-moving of the said vehicles from the place, garbage is generated and foul smell is created. In the past, action has been taken to pick up the off/abandoned vehicles on the road. Complaints of citizens are also being received continuously regarding blocked/abandoned vehicles on the road. Therefore, such vehicles are going to be confiscated through the regional office of Pune Municipal Corporation. (PMC Pune News)
– Removal charges for impounded vehicles are as follows-
1. For Heavy Vehicle (Passenger Bus, Truck etc.) = 25,000/-
2. Light vehicles (up to 10 tonnes) = 20,000/-
3. Four Wheeler Vehicles (Car, Jeep etc.) = 15,000/-
4. Three Wheelers (Rickshaw, Tempo) = 10,000/-
5. Two Wheeler (Automatic) Rs= 5000/-
According to the information of the encroachment department, the concerned vehicle owner can resolve the encroachment within a period of 1 month. A notice will be placed on the said vehicles through the regional office and a period of 7 days will be given for this. If the concerned vehicle owners do not remove the vehicle within 7 days, confiscation action is being taken against the said vehicle by the Pune Municipal Corporation, according to which 139 vehicles have been seized in the city and some vehicles have been issued notices.
