Pune 5 Star City | PMC | Another treasure has been buried in the heart of Pune City. Due to the efforts made by Pune Municipal Corporation, Pune city has now become 5 star. Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC Pune) has received a National Award and 5 Star City Certificate in Swachh Survey 2023. The city of Pune was in the middle of 3 stars till date. However, the Municipal Corporation has achieved the honor of being 5 stars for the first time by performing well. This is considered a big achievement for Pune Municipality and Pune City. Pune city has earned the reputation as the best livable city in the country. Also Pune city has got many titles like capital of education, cultural capital of the state. Another reputation has been added to it. Pune city has now become 5 star. The Solid Waste Management Department of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC Solid Waste Management Department) was constantly striving for this. Pune city was so far in 3 stars. But now it has increased to 5 stars. In fact, the municipality was trying for this since 2019. But for some reason this rating was missing. But finally the Municipal Corporation has achieved this achievement. In this regard, a survey was conducted by the Center in the last week of September. It included 24 different components such as door-to-door waste collection, waste sorting, etc. The Municipal Corporation has made good progress in all these matters. Therefore, the municipality has been able to get this book. Pune Municipal Corporation will try to get 7 star and water plus rating in the coming time. Municipal Corporation can be eligible for this after completion of water treatment plant works under Jayaka project. (Pune PMC News)

Meanwhile, the central government has recently given this certificate to Pune city. Also, the National Award will be given on January 11. In this, the ranking of the city in Swachh Survekshan will also be known. The central government has invited only 3 cities from the state on January 11. This includes the cities of Navi Mumbai, Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. Pune Municipal Corporation is appreciating this. Pune Municipal Corporation has already become open definition free. The Municipal Corporation has also got a rating in this regard. But the municipality is still improving its performance and trying to keep the ranking in the top 5. Also, the solid waste department of the municipal corporation has also expressed its intention to get 7 star and water plus rating in the future.

Pune city has got 5 star certificate for the first time. In the future we will try for 7 stars. There are 8-9 cities in the country in 5 stars. It includes Pune. This is a big thing for Pune Municipal Corporation. The central government has put a stamp on the good performance of the municipal corporation. We have made a lot of improvements compared to last year. The municipality is going to improve its performance even better. Meanwhile, the city of Pune has also been invited to the program to be held in Delhi on January 11. This is even better. It will also know the national awards and your ranking.

Swachh Survekshan 2023, (SS23), our Pune Municipal Corporation has received a National Award and 5 Star City Certificate. This has been possible due to the commendable leadership and trust of the Municipal Commissioner, the guidance of the Additional Commissioner, and the hard work of all officers and staff. Aji ex-officers, journalists and citizens of Pune have also contributed a lot in this. But now our responsibility has increased. We will work hard.
