Pune Metro in association with Pune Municipal Corporation Celebrate Pedestrian Day – 11th December 2024

Pune Metro – PMC – (The Karbhari News Service) –  Pune Metro in association with Pune Municipal Corporation, is celebrating Pedestrian Day on 11th December 2024. The aim of this initiative is to encourage walking, reduce dependence on private vehicles, and promote the use of public transport, ultimately leading to a safer, cleaner, and more sustainable urban environment. On this day, all types of vehicles will be restricted from entering the stretch between Kunte Chowk and Garud Ganpati Chowk from 8 AM to 8 PM, allowing citizens to enjoy the city’s vibrant spaces without the disruption of traffic. Citizens are encouraged to walk to the nearest Metro station or bus stop, if within walking distance for commuting for day-to-day activities or use public transport for commuting to work, school, college, or daily activities personal vehicles at home.

The pedestrian day walk stretch starts from Garud Ganpati Chowk and terminates at Kunte Chowk. To facilitate easy access, Pune Metro has introduced E-scoots facilities from Garud Ganpati Chowk to Vijay Talkies Chowk as an experiential service, allowing citizens to enjoy the city’s views while benefiting from the metro-integrated feeder service. This initiative encourages the use of public transport instead of private vehicles, contributing to the city’s overall well-being and reduced congestion. The drop-off or pick-up zone for the E-scoot is located at both Vijay Talkies Chowk and Garud Ganpati Chowk.

Pune Metro WhatsApp ticketing booth has been set up near Vijay Talkies Chowk, enabling citizens to conveniently plan their journey and make the most of the available public transport services.
