Organization of e-waste collection campaign under Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan through Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC)
PMC E-Waste Collection – (The Karbhari News Service) – Under the Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan of the Government of Maharashtra for the year 2024 (Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan) on the occasion of World Vasundhara Day through Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) from April 22 to April 28, 2024 Swachhta Abhiyan Single Public awareness and action regarding implementation of use plastic ban, e-waste collection campaign and various sanitation related and public awareness programs are being organized.
Accordingly, e-waste collection campaign was organized under 15 regional offices on 27th. E-waste collection center was set up in each regional office by determining 5 health cells and e-waste collection campaign was conducted from 10.00 am to 01.00 am. came (PMC Solid Waste Management Department)
Along with the Pune Municipal Corporation, Cummins India Foundation, Swachh Pune Seva Cooperative and Aadar Poonawala Clean City Initiative participated in the campaign.
The objective of this campaign is to create public awareness about the problem of e-waste and plastic waste and to implement a planned system of collection for maximum recycling. After the campaign, efforts will be made to run permanent collection centers in the city in the future. Through this, the problem of e-waste and plastic can be solved and the waste can be disposed of scientifically.
A total of 351.35 kg of e-waste was collected through the e-waste collection campaign conducted under 15 regional offices on April 27 and the said e-waste will be handed over to the authorized recyclers through the Pune Municipal Corporation and disposed of scientifically.
