2273 crore collected in the coffers of Pune Municipal Corporation from property tax
| 308 crore more income than last year
PMC Property Tax – (The Karbhari News Service) – In the financial year 2024-25, 11 lakh 91 thousand 473 income holders have collected 2073 crores in the municipal treasury in the form of income tax. This amount is 308 crore more than the previous year i.e. 2023-24. Such information was given on behalf of the Municipal Property Tax Department (Pune Municipal Corporation Property Tax Department). The Income Tax Department of Pune Municipal Corporation had planned to achieve the given revenue target for the financial year 2024-25. In this regard, income tax bills for the financial year 2024-25 have been printed and distributed through the post department from April 1. Also, the income tax bills which are returned due to partial lack of address are sent to the income holders through speed post with the name and address of the income holders etc. Information will be updated. According to the information given by the tax department, last year the municipal corporation received 1965 crores. 2273 crores have been received in the year. Most of these payments have been made through online. 55% people i.e. 6 lakh 58 thousand 911 income holders have paid 1175 crores. 33% means 3 lakh 96 thousand 347 people deposited an amount of 285 crores in the form of cash. So 11% means 1 lakh 36 thousand 205 income holders deposited 805 crores through cheques.
As the income tax will get a discount of 5% to 10% by the end of May 31, the tax department has appealed to the income holders to pay the income tax as soon as possible.
