| Action in the State Excise Department’s strike campaign

 

Pune Pub Bar News – (The Karbhari News Service) – In the wake of the accident in Kalyaninagar, Pune, the State Excise Pune Department has registered crimes against 32 different license room licensees in a strike campaign conducted by 14 teams in the last three days. As per the orders of the Collector, the transactions of these licenses have been stopped with immediate effect and all the licenses have been sealed. (Pune Kalyaninagar Accident)

In this action, a total of 32 licenses such as 10 rooftops, approximately 16 pubs, 6 other license room bars have been ordered to be closed with immediate effect and all licenses have been sealed. Dhadak campaign is being implemented in Pune district under the guidance of Collector, Commissioner of State Excise Department, Deputy Commissioner.

State Excise Departments frequently take action against misuse of licences. Although action has now been taken to stop the business of license at Cozy Bar, a departmental offense has been registered by the State Excise Department even two months ago.

In 2023-2024, offenses have been registered against a total of 297 licenses by the State Excise Pune Department for various reasons. A fine of Rs 1 crore 12 lakh has been recovered. Suspension action has also been taken on 17 licenses and 2 licenses have been closed permanently.

From April 2024 to date, 54 licensees have been registered and a fine of Rs 5 lakh has been collected. A total of 32 licenses have been sealed.

The State Excise Department is taking planned action and inspection drive is going on by all the squads regarding continuation of license after prescribed time, sale of liquor to minors, sale of liquor at illegal places (rooftop).

Liquor licenses are available in abundance with the department and arrangements have been made to issue liquor licenses online through the website exciseservices.mahaonline.gov.in. Commissioner of State Excise Department has urged citizens to complain on toll free number 18002339999 or WhatsApp number 8422001133 if they have complaints regarding the above malpractices.
