  Pune Metro News |  Today, Pune Metro completed the trial run from Civil Court underground station to Swargate station.  Today, Metro started the trial run of metro trains from Civil Court underground station at 10:58 am.  Metro train 11th passing Budhwar Peth station and Mandai station.  After 59 minutes reached Swargate underground station (Civil Court underground station to Budhwar Peth station distance 853 m, Budhwar Peth station to Mandai station distance 1 km and Mandai station to Swargate station distance 1.48 km).  This test took 1 hour.  During this test, the speed of the metro was kept at 7.5 km per hour.  The test was carried out as planned.  Metro was tested on a total of 3.64 km.  This information was given on behalf of Metro administration.  (Pune Metro Route)
 Civil Court Underground Station to Swargate Station on the trial route from Civil Court Underground Station to Budhwar Peth Station passes under Mutha river bed.  Passing the metro under the river is a historical event in the city of Pune.  Civil Court underground station is 33.1 m deep, Budhwar Peth station is 30 m deep, Mandai station is 26 m deep and Swargate station is 29 m deep.
 With today’s trial, the work on the route from Civil Court to Swargate is nearing completion.  After the launch of this route, the central part of Pune city will be connected to the metro network and a fast and safe urban transport option will be available to the citizens.  Also, with the completion of inspection and testing by the Central Railway Safety Commissioner on the elevated line from Ruby Hall Clinic Station to Ramwadi Station, this line can be opened for passengers in the next few days.  This will benefit the citizens on a large scale.
 3 Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) namely Mutha, Mula and Pavana were used for the work of Pune Metro underground line.  With Budhwar Peth station as the center, TBMs Mutha and Mula started tunneling from the College of Agriculture, while TBMs Pavana and Mutha 2 (re-used after digging the first tunnel of Mutha) started tunneling from Swargate.  The excavation work of subway in Pune Metro project started on 28 September 2020 and the excavation work of total 12 km subway was completed on 4 June 2022.
 Pune Metro has 2 lines of 33 km length namely Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Station to Swargate Station (17 km) and Vanaz Station to Ramwadi Station (16 km).  Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Station to Phugewadi Station (7 km) and Vanaz Station to Garware College Station (5 km) inaugurated on 6 March 2022 and Phugewadi Station to Civil Court Station (6 km) and Garware College Station to Ruby Hall Clinic Station  (4.75 km) these routes were inaugurated on 1st August 2023 by Hon.  It was opened for travelers by the hands of the Prime Minister.
 As of today, 98% of the work of Pune Metro has been completed and the rest of the route is in full swing.  It will be opened for tourists after completion of the remaining work in a few months.  It will be possible to travel from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Station to Swargate Station in the next few months.  This will make it possible for the citizens of Pimpri Chinchwad to move to the heart of Pune city.  Also Kasba Ganapati, Dagdushet Ganapati, Sunday Peth, Bhaji Mandai, Swargate Bus Station, Mukundnagar, Kasab Peth, Lakshmi Road, Kamalanehru Hospital, Gadikhana, Shanipar Chowk, Bajirao Road, Tulshibagh, Sarasbagh, Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmandir, Nehru Stadium etc.  Citizens will be able to go to the place by metro.
 Speaking on the occasion, Shravan Hardikar, Managing Director, Mahametro said, “Today’s test run on Civil Court underground station to Swargate station is a historic event for the cities of Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune.  This passage is underground and passes under the river Mutha.  It will be possible to travel directly from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Station to Swargate Station in the coming months.  With the completion of the inspection by the Central Railway Safety Commissioner on the elevated line from Ruby Hall Clinic station to Ramwadi station, the line may open for passengers in the next few days.”
