PMPML Pune | Need to get new buses in PMPL’s fleet!
– Former MLA Mohan Joshi
PMPML Pune – (The Karbhari News Service) – As the number of bus passengers in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad cities is increasing, former MLA, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Vice President Mohan Joshi has given a statement to the Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar demanding that 2000 new buses be added.
At present the number of buses of PMPML is 2,028. Out of this, 300 to 400 buses break down on time or are in garage for repairs. About 1,600 buses are available. Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad city and surrounding areas together have a population of 1 crore. Therefore, the rush of passengers is increasing. Keeping this in mind, it is necessary to add at least 2000 new buses to the fleet of PMPML, for which the state government should provide funds, Mohan Joshi has demanded.
PMPML’s bus service needs to have good connectivity to solve traffic congestion in the city. Although the city has a metro, enabling PMPL is the only option at present, Mohan Joshi said in a statement. Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar has responded positively to the demand.
