36th Pune Festival | ३६व्या पुणे फेस्टिव्हलचे १३ सप्टेंबर रोजी उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार यांच्या हस्ते उद्घाटन !
Pune Festival – (The Karbhari News Service) – कला, संस्कृती, गायन, वादन, नृत्य, संगीत आणि क्रीडा यांचा मनोहारी संगम असणारा ‘पुणे फेस्टिव्हल’ यंदा गौरवशाली ३६वे वर्ष साजरे करीत असून, यंदा याचे उद्घाटन शुक्रवार, दि. १३ सप्टेंबर २०२४ रोजी सायंकाळी ४.३० वाजता महाराष्ट्राचे उपमुख्यमंत्री अजित पवार यांच्या हस्ते श्री गणेश कला क्रीडा रंगमंच, स्वारगेट, पुणे येथे संपन्न होईल. छत्रपती खा. शाहू महाराज कार्यक्रमाचे अध्यक्षस्थान भूषविणार आहेत. महाराष्ट्राचे उच्च व तंत्रशिक्षणमंत्री चंद्रकांत पाटील, केंद्रीय राज्यमंत्री मुरलीधर मोहोळ, विधानसभा विरोधी पक्षनेते विजय वड्डेटीवार, विधानपरिषद काँग्रेस गटनेते सतेज पाटील, खा. मेधा कुलकर्णी , खा. सुनेत्रा पवार आणि खा. इम्रान प्रतापगढी हे याप्रसंगी प्रमुख पाहुणे म्हणून उपस्थित राहतील. महाराष्ट्र पर्यटन विभागाच्या पर्यटन संचलनालयाचे संचालक डॉ. बी. एन पाटील हे याप्रसंगी विशेष निमंत्रित म्हणून उपस्थित राहतील, अशी माहिती पुणे फेस्टिव्हलचे उपाध्यक्ष कृष्णकुमार गोयल आणि मुख्य समन्वयक अॅड. अभय छाजेड यांनी पत्रकार परिषदेत दिली. महाराष्ट्र पर्यटन विभागाच्या पर्यटन संचलनालयाच्या पुणे विभागाच्या उपसंचालिका सौ. शमा पवार, डेक्कन मुस्लिम इन्स्टिट्यूट पुणेच्या अध्यक्षा सौ. आबेदा इनामदार, डॉ. सतीश देसाई यावेळी उपस्थित होते.
भव्य उद्घाटन सोहळा, हास्यकल्लोळ, ‘जाऊ देवाचिया गावा’ कार्यक्रम, ऑल इंडिया मुशायरा, मिस पुणे फेस्टिव्हल स्पर्धा, केरळ महोत्सव, नारदीय कीर्तन महोत्सव, मराठी कविसंमेलन, इंद्रधनु, उगवते तारे, मिसेस पुणे फेस्टिव्हल स्पर्धा, व्हॉइस ऑफ पुणे फेस्टिव्हल, महिला नृत्य स्पर्धा, लावणी, मराठी-हिंदी गीते, पेंटिंग स्पर्धा व प्रदर्शन याबरोबरच पूना गोल्फ कप टूर्नामेंट, बॉक्सिंग, द डर्ट ट्रॅक व मल्लखांब अशा क्रीडास्पर्धाही यंदाच्या पुणे फेस्टिव्हलची वैशिष्ट्ये आहेत. यासोबतच ज्येष्ठ पार्श्वगायक मोहम्मद रफी, ज्येष्ठ संगीतकार मदनमोहन, ज्येष्ठ अभिनेते राज कपूर आणि गुरुदत्त यांच्या जन्मशताब्दी वर्षानिमित्त त्यांच्या गाण्यांवर आधारित विशेष कार्यक्रम मनाला हळवा करेल.
पुणे फेस्टिव्हलचे कार्यक्रम श्री गणेश कला क्रीडा रंगमंच, बालगंधर्व रंगमंदिर व कलादालन, महाराष्ट्र साहित्य परिषद, लोकमान्य सभागृह (केसरी वाडा) येथे संपन्न होतील. तसेच येरवडा गोल्फ क्लब, महाराष्ट्र मंडळ – टिळक मार्ग, वस्ताद लहूजी साळवे स्टेडीयम, भवानी पेठ व कोंढवा येथील म.न.पा मैदान येथे क्रीडा स्पर्धांचे आयोजन केले आहे.
लोकमान्य टिळकांनी सार्वजनिक गणेशोत्सव महाराष्ट्राच्या कानाकोपऱ्यात पोहोचविला. त्यावेळी त्यामध्ये कथाकथन, कीर्तन, पोवाडे, लोककला, मेळे असे कार्यक्रम होत असत. यापासूनच प्रेरणा घेऊन १९८९मध्ये महाराष्ट्र पर्यटन विकास महामंडळाचे अध्यक्ष खा. सुरेश कलमाडी यांनी ‘पुणे फेस्टिव्हल’ची सुरुवात केली. सलग १० दिवस आणि ३६ वर्षे सुरू असलेला पुणे फेस्टिव्हल देशातील मोठा सांस्कृतिक महोत्सव मानला जातो. यापासून प्रेरणा घेऊन अनेक सांस्कृतिक महोत्सव सुरू झाले. त्यामुळे पुणे फेस्टिव्हलला ‘मदर ऑफ ऑल फेस्टिव्हल्स’ म्हटले जाते. भारतरत्न पं. भीमसेन जोशी प्रथमपासून पुणे फेस्टिव्हलचे अध्यक्ष होते. ज्येष्ठ अभिनेत्री, नृत्यांगना पद्मश्री खा. हेमामालिनी पुणे फेस्टिव्हलच्या पॅट्रन आहेत.
पुणे फेस्टिव्हल कमिटी, पुणेकर नागरिक, महाराष्ट्र पर्यटन विभागाचे पर्यटन संचलनालय आणि भारत सरकारचा पर्यटन विभाग यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने पुणे फेस्टिव्हलचे आयोजन केले जाते. पुणे फेस्टिव्हलचे सर्व कार्यक्रम रसिकांसाठी विनामूल्य असतात.
३६व्या पुणे फेस्टिव्हलच्या ‘श्रीं’ची प्रतिष्ठापना शनिवार, दि. ७ सप्टेंबर रोजी सकाळी १०.०० वा. हॉटेल सारस, नेहरू स्टेडियम, पुणे येथे पुणे महानगरपालिकेचे आयुक्त डॉ. राजेंद्र भोसले व सौ. दीपाली भोसले यांच्या हस्ते विधिवत संपन्न होईल. वेदमूर्ती पं. धनंजय घाटे गुरुजी याचे पौरोहित्य करतील.
३६व्या ‘पुणे फेस्टिव्हल’चे महाराष्ट्र पर्यटन विभागाचे पर्यटन संचलनालय आणि कोहिनूर ग्रुप हे मुख्य प्रायोजक असून, पंचशील, सुमा शिल्प लि. ,भारत फोर्ज आणि नॅशनल एग्ज को–ऑर्डीनेशन कमिटी हे सहप्रायोजक आहेत. डॉ. डी. वाय. पाटील युनिवर्सिटी, बढेकर ग्रुप ,अहुरा बिल्डर्स आणि सिंहगड इन्स्टिट्युट हे उपप्रायोजक आहेत.
विविध क्षेत्रांत दीर्घकाळ उत्तुंग कामगिरी करणाऱ्या नामवंतांना पुणे फेस्टिव्हलच्या उद्घाटन सोहळ्यात ‘जीवनगौरव पुरस्कार’, तसेच ‘पुणे फेस्टिव्हल अवॉर्ड’ देऊन गौरविले जाते. यंदा ज्येष्ठ व्यंगचित्रकार शि. द. फडणीस आणि ज्येष्ठ शिक्षणतज्ज्ञ, पद्मश्री डॉ. डी.वाय. पाटील विद्यापीठाचे कुलपती डॉ. पी.डी. पाटील यांना ‘जीवनगौरव पुरस्कारा’ने गौरविले जाईल. तसेच ज्येष्ठ संगणकतज्ज्ञ डॉ. दीपक शिकारपूर, ‘सरहद’ संस्थेचे संस्थापक अध्यक्ष संजय नहार आणि पर्यटनस्थळ बनलेल्या मोराची चिंचोली येथील जय मल्हार कृषी पर्यटन केंद्राचे देवराम गोर्डे यांना ‘पुणे फेस्टिव्हल अवॉर्ड’ देऊन सन्मानाने गौरविले जाईल.
सार्वजनिक गणेशोत्सवाची शताब्दी साजरी करणाऱ्या पुण्यातील मंडळांचा पुणे फेस्टिव्हलमध्ये दरवर्षी उद्घाटन सोहळ्यात श्रीमंत दगडूशेठ हलवाई सार्वजनिक गणपती ट्रस्टचे कै. प्रतापराव ऊर्फ तात्या गोडसे यांच्या स्मृतिप्रीत्यर्थ ‘जय गणेश पुरस्कार’ देऊन गौरव केला जातो. यंदा गणेश पेठ पांगुळ आळी सार्वजनिक गणपती ट्रस्ट यांना या पुरस्काराने गौरविले जाईल.
उद्घाटन सोहळा
दरवर्षीप्रमाणे यंदाचा उद्घाटन सोहळा देखील नेत्रदीपक असेल. सुरुवातीला ज्येष्ठ सनईवादक तुकाराम दैठणकर व त्यांचे ५ सहकारी यांच्या सुमधुर सनईने कार्यक्रमाचा प्रारंभ होईल. दीपप्रज्वलन व श्री गणेश आरती होईल. ज्येष्ठ नृत्यगुरू विदुषी पंडिता कै. रोहिणी भाटे यांचे यंदा जन्मशताब्दी वर्ष आहे. त्यांनीच ३० वर्षांपूर्वी पुणे फेस्टिव्हलमध्ये कथ्थक व भरतनाट्यम् यांचा विलोभनीय मिलाफ असणाऱ्या ‘पंचारती’ या नृत्याविष्काराची निर्मिती करून तो अविस्मरणीय कार्यक्रम सादर केला होता. त्यांची ही स्मृती जागती ठेवण्यासाठी ‘नादरूप’ संस्थेच्या १४ ते १८ कलाकार विद्यार्थिनी ‘सेतू’ हा कथ्थक व भरतनाट्यमचा मिलाफ असणाऱ्या नव्या स्वरूपातील नृत्याविष्कारातून गणेशवंदना सादर करून नृत्यगुरू कै. रोहिणी भाटे यांना आदरांजली अर्पण करतील. ज्येष्ठ नृत्यगुरू श्रीमती शमा भाटे यांनी याचे नृत्यदिग्दर्शन केले आहे.
महाराष्ट्राच्या साडेतीन शक्तिपीठांवर आधारित ३० युवक-युवती कलावंत नृत्य सादर करतील. संबळवादक गौरी वनारसे आणि राजेंद्र बडगे ग्रुपचे ५ कलाकार संबळवादन सादर करतील. तसेच हलगीवादनही होईल. त्यावर नृत्यदिग्दर्शिका नृत्यांगना वृंदा साठे आणि कलाकार देवी आणि दैत्य यांच्यातील युद्ध सादर करतील. सादरीकरण व संकल्पना करुणा पाटील यांनी केली आहे.
गुजराती लोकनृत्य ‘डांग’ गुजराती आदिवासी नृत्य, ‘भवई’ हे राजस्थान आणि गुजरात सीमेवरील लोकनृत्य यांच्या मिश्रणातून ‘डाकला’ या पारंपरिक गुजराती संगीतावर आधारित गरबा नृत्य ‘झांकी ग्रुप ऑफ गरबा अँड फोक’या संस्थेच्या १२ कलावंत मुली ‘डाकला’ नृत्य सादर करतील. याची संकल्पना व सादरीकरण भैरवी सचदे यांचे आहे.
ईशान्य भारतातील नागालँडचे विद्यार्थी पुण्याजवळील फुलगाव येथील ‘ईश्वरपुरम’ संस्थेत शिकत आहेत. त्यांचा नागा जमातीचे वैशिष्ट्य असणारा पारंपरिक ‘बांबू डान्स’ हा आदिवासी नृत्याविष्कार ३७ नागा विद्यार्थी सादर करीत राष्ट्रीय एकात्मतेचे दर्शन घडविणार आहेत. याचे सादरीकरण शुभांगी मेहता करणार आहेत.
यानंतर गेली ३० वर्षे जम्मू-काश्मीर, आसाम इत्यादी भागांतील विद्यार्थ्यांना पुण्यात मोफत निवास, भोजन व शिक्षण देणाऱ्या ‘सरहद’ या संस्थेच्या वाटचालीवर आधारित ‘द ग्लोरी ऑफ सरहद’ हा सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम सादर होईल. विविधतेतून एकतेचे दर्शन घडविणाऱ्या या कार्यक्रमात आसाम, मणिपूर व महाराष्ट्रातील ‘सरहद’मधील ३० विद्यार्थिनी सहभागी होत असून, मंजूर बशीर राथेर यांनी याचे नृत्यदिग्दर्शन केले आहे.
पुण्यातील सिंबायोसिस आंतरराष्ट्रीय विद्यापीठात शिकणारे २१ देशांमधील २५ विद्यार्थी ‘वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्’ हा आंतरराष्ट्रीय सलोख्याचा संदेश देणारा अविस्मरणीय नृत्याविष्कार सादर करतील. यामध्ये भारत, बांगलादेश, बेल्जियम, भूतान, ब्राझिल, डीआरसी, इथियोपिया, फ्रान्स, द गांबिया, इंडोनेशिया, जपान, केनिया, कुवेत, माली, मोरोक्को, नेपाळ, नायजेरिया, श्रीलंका, युगांडा, उझबेकिस्तान आणि झिम्बाब्वे या २१ देशांतील धर्म, भाषा, संस्कृती भिन्न असणारे विद्यार्थी ‘वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्’ ही संकल्पना अनोख्या नृत्यातून सादर करतील. समन्वयक म्हणून रूपाली चौधरी काम करीत आहेत.
या उद्घाटन सोहळ्याच्या सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमाची सांगता महाराष्ट्राची परंपरा असणाऱ्या लावणीच्या ‘ऱ्हिदम ऑफ लावणी’ कार्यक्रमाने होणार असून, यामध्ये शर्वरी जमेनीस, दीपाली सैययद, प्राजक्ता गायकवाड, वैष्णवी पाटील आणि अमृता धोंगडे या अभिनेत्री नृत्यांगना सहकाऱ्यांसह लावणी सादर करतील. यामध्ये पायलवृंद संस्था आणि डी. वाय. पाटील स्कूल ऑफ लिबरल आर्ट्सच्या डान्स आणि कोरिओग्राफी विभागाचे विद्यार्थी सहकालावंत असतील. नृत्यदिग्दर्शिका निकिता मोघे यांनी याचे नृत्यदिग्दर्शन केले आहे.
उद्घाटन सोहळ्याचे सूत्रसंचालन योगेश देशपांडे मराठीतून आणि अपूर्वा मोडक इंग्रजीतून करतील.
श्री गणेश कला क्रीडा रंगमंच येथील कार्यक्रम
जाऊ देवाचिया गावा : संतश्रेष्ठ तुकाराम महाराज यांच्या ३७५व्या वैकुंठगमन वर्षानिमित्त संतश्रेष्ठ तुकाराम महाराज यांच्या जीवनावरील महानाट्य ‘जाऊ देवाचिया गावा’ शनिवार, दि. १४ सप्टेंबर २०२४ रोजी सायंकाळी ५.०० वाजता श्री गणेश कला क्रीडा रंगमंच येथे सादर होईल. याचे लेखन व दिग्दर्शन संजय भोसले यांनी केले असून, निर्माते जनार्दन चितोडे आहेत. ज्येष्ठ संगीतकार अशोक पत्की यांनी संगीत दिले आहे. यामध्ये प्रख्यात गायक सुरेश वाडकर, आनंद भाटे, देवकी पंडित आणि त्यागराज खाडिलकर यांनी गायलेली गाणी आहेत ,या कार्यक्रमात ४० कलाकार आकर्षक नृत्ये सादर करतील. मयूर वैद्य नृत्य दिगदर्शन करणार आहेत.
ऑल इंडिया मुशायरा : राष्ट्रीय एकात्मता आणि धार्मिक सलोखा जोपासणारा ‘ऑल इंडिया मुशायरा’ कार्यक्रम दि. १४ सप्टेंबर रोजी श्रीगणेश कला क्रीडा रंगमंच येथे रात्री ८.०० वाजता सादर होईल. भारताचे माजी परराष्ट्रमंत्री सलमान खुर्शीद आलम हे प्रमुख पाहुणे म्हणून उपस्थित राहणार असून ,अखिल भारतीय कॉंग्रेस महासमितीच्या अल्पसंख्यांक विभागाचे अध्यक्ष खा. इम्रान प्रतापगढी हे विशेष पाहुणे म्हणून उपस्थित राहतील. यामध्ये अनिस शौक (शेगाव), अहमद कमाल हाश्मी (कोलकाता), रफीक सरवर (मालेगाव), मारूफ रायबरेल्वी (निजामत), काशिफ सय्यद (भिवंडी), विशाल बाग (पुणे), शाहिद आदिली (हैदराबाद),शाहिस्ता सना , हाशमी फिरोझाबादी (फिरोझाबाद) हे देशातील नामवंत शायर सहभागी होत आहेत. शायरांच्या कार्यक्रमाचे सूत्रसंचालन मारुफ रायबरेलवी हे करणार असून, संपूर्ण कार्यक्रमाचे सूत्रसंचालन डॉ. उज्मा तसनीम करणार आहेत. या कार्यक्रमाचे संयोजन डॉ. पी ए इनामदार विद्यापीठाचे कुलपती डॉ. पी. ए. इनामदार हे असून ,डेक्कन मुस्लिम इन्स्टिट्यूट पुणे या संस्थेच्या अध्यक्षा श्रीमती आबेदा इनामदार या निमंत्रक आहेत.
हास्यकल्लोळ धम्माल महाराष्ट्राच्या विनोदवीरांची : संपूर्ण महाराष्ट्रात घरोघरी हास्याचे धबधबे निर्माण करणारा ‘हास्यकल्लोळ धम्माल महाराष्ट्राच्या विनोदवीरांची’ हा कार्यक्रम रविवार दि. १५ सप्टेंबर रोजी सायंकाळी ५ ते ८ या वेळेत श्री गणेश कला क्रीडा रंगमंच येथे संपन्न होईल. यामध्ये प्रसाद खांडेकर, नम्रता संभेराव, वनिता खरात, प्रियदर्शनी इंदलकर, रसिका वेंगुर्लेकर, रोहित माने आणि प्रथमेश शिवलकर हे कलाकार सहभागी होत आहेत. सोबत ऑर्केस्ट्रा म्युझिक बँड, २ गायक, ४ वादक व १ निवेदक असेल. हा कार्यक्रम अडीच तासांचा असेल.
मिस पुणे फेस्टिव्हल स्पर्धा : महिलांच्या व्यक्तिमत्त्व आणि गुण यांची ही स्पर्धा असून, यंदा या नामांकित स्पर्धेचे हे १०वे वर्ष आहे. सोमवार, दि. १६ सप्टेंबर २०२४ रोजी सायंकाळी ६.०० वाजता श्रीगणेश कला क्रीडा रंगमंच येथे ही स्पर्धा पार पडेल. प्रख्यात गायिका व बँकर सौ. अमृता फडणवीस यांच्या हस्ते विजेत्यांना मुगुट परिधान केले जातील. या स्पर्धेत १८ ते २८ वर्षे वयोगटातील १५० हून अधिक युवतींनी सहभाग घेतला. प्राथमिक फेरीनंतर यातील २० तरुणींची अंतिम फेरीसाठी निवड करण्यात आली. सिनेमॅटोग्राफर अमेय अवधानी, मॉडेल-अभिनेत्री साक्षी पाटील आणि शो डायरेक्टर व ग्रूमिंग मेंटॉर जुई सुहास यांनी अंतिम फेरीसाठी निवड केली असून, या सर्व २० स्पर्धक तरुणींना विशेष प्रशिक्षण दिले जात आहे. यामध्ये त्यांची दंतचिकित्सा, केस व त्वचा चिकित्सा, नृत्य प्रशिक्षण, फोटोशूट यांचाही समावेश आहे. या स्पर्धेवेळी अभिनेत्री सानिया चौधरी, स्कूल ऑफ फॅशन टेक्नॉंलॉजीच्या प्रिसिपल गरिमा भल्ला, फॅशन कोरिओग्राफर आणि मेंटॉर चैतन्य गोखले, अभिनेता ध्रुव दातार, फॅशन फोटोग्राफर अश्विन कोडगूल हे परीक्षक म्हणून काम पाहणार आहेत. सुप्रिया ताम्हाणे हा कार्यक्रम सादर करतील. जुई सुहास या शो डायरेक्टर व ग्रूमिंग मेंटॉर आहेत.

The illustrious ‘Pune Festival,’ a resplendent confluence of art, culture, music, dance, and sports, is commemorating its 36th anniversary this year. This cultural extravaganza inauguration is set to unfold ceremoniously on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 4:30 PM at the auspices hands of the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar, at Shri Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch, Swargate, Pune. The occasion will be graced by the presence of MP. Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, will preside over the grand event. Adding to the grandeur, the occasion will be graced by array of distinguished dignitaries, including Maharashtra’s Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Union Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar, Congress Leader in the Legislative Council Satej Patil, along with MP Mrs. Medha Kulkarni, MP Mrs. Sunetra Pawar & MP Imran Pratapgarhi as distinguished Chief Guests. The Pune Festival’s illustrious lineup this year encompasses a rich tapestry of cultural and artistic extravaganzas, including the Grand Opening Ceremony, Hasyakallol, Jau Devachiya Gava programme, All India Mushaira, Miss Pune Festival Competition, Kerala Mahotsav, Naradiya Kirtan Mahotsav, Marathi Kavi sammelan, Indradhanu, Ugawate Taare, Mrs Pune Festival, Voice of Pune Festival, Women’s Dance Competition, Lavani and a rich tapestry of Marathi and Hindi songs, alongside a Painting Competition and Exhibition. The festival will additionally feature a range of exhilarating sports events such as the Poona Golf Cup Tournament, boxing matches, the Dirt Track Racing and Mallakhamb. Furthermore, a poignant tribute will be presented in honor of the birth centenary years of legendary playback singer Mohammed Rafi, distinguished composer Madanmohan, iconic actor Raj Kapoor, and the eminent Guru Dutt, celebrating their enduring contributions to Indian cinema and music.
Lokmanya Tilak’s pioneering initiative of the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav revolutionized cultural celebrations across Maharashtra, incorporating storytelling, kirtan, powade, folk art, and vibrant fairs into the fabric of community life. In 1989, drawing upon this rich heritage, Suresh Kalmadi, the then Chairman of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, initiated the ‘Pune Festival,’ which, over its illustrious 36-year history, has evolved into the most prominent cultural festival in the country. Esteemed for its extensive 10-days celebration, the Pune Festival has inspired numerous other cultural events and is hence called as the ‘Mother of all Festivals.’ From its inception, the esteemed Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi served as its President, while the venerable actress and dancer Padmashri Hema Malini (MP), and has been the festival’s distinguished Patron.
The Pune Festival is organized jointly by the Pune Festival Committee, Puneites citizens, Directorate of Tourism, Maharashtra and Government of India Tourism Department. The entry for all events of the Pune Festival is free.
The ceremonial installation of the Ganesh idol for the 36th Pune Festival will be auspiciously conducted on Saturday, September 7th, at 10:00 AM at Hotel Saras, Nehru Stadium, Pune at the hands of Pune Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosle and Mrs. Deepali Bhosle. At the illustrious inauguration of the Pune Festival, distinguished individuals who have demonstrated exemplary achievements across diverse fields over the years are honoured with the prestigious ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ and ‘Pune Festival Award.’ This year, renowned senior cartoonist Mr. S.D. Phadnis & Dr. P.D. Patil, Chancellor of Padmashree Dr. D.Y. Patil University will be conferred with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award.’ In addition, the ‘Pune Festival Award’ will be bestowed upon eminent IT expert Dr. Deepak Shikarpur, Mr. Sanjay Nahar, the visionary founder of the ‘Sarhad’ organization and Mr. Devram Gorde of Jai Malhar Agri. Tourism Centre at Morachi Chincholi, a rising tourist destination.
Furthermore, the ‘Jai Ganesh Award,’ instituted in memory of the late Prataprao alias Tatya Godse of the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganesh Trust, is presented annually at the festival’s inauguration to Pune mandals celebrating the centenary of the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav. This year, Ganesh Peth Pangul Ali Sarvajanik Ganpati Trust will be felicitated in the Function.
Inauguration Ceremony
The program will unfold with the enchanting clarinet melodies of senior artist Tukaram Daithankar and his five colleagues. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp and Shri Ganesha Aarti will mark the commencement of the celebrations.
This year also marks the birth centenary of the legendary dance guru, Vidushi Pandita Late Rohini Bhate, who, three decades ago, graced the Pune Festival with her extraordinary creation ‘Pancharti,’ a remarkable fusion of Kathak and Bharatnatyam. In homage to her enduring legacy, 14 to 18 artists from the ‘Nadarup’ organization will perform Ganesha Vandana in a novel dance form called ‘Setu,’ which elegantly blends Kathak and Bharatnatyam. This tribute has been choreographed by the esteemed dance maestro, Mrs. Shama Bhate.
In a celebration of cultural and artistic excellence, 30 young artists will showcase a series of dances inspired by the revered three and a half Shaktipeeths of Maharashtra. The traditional Sambal performance will feature Gauri Vanarse, accompanied by five artists from the Rajendra Badage group, with an additional Halgi Vadan segment. This segment, choreographed by the eminent Vrinda Sathe, will vividly depict the mythological battle between goddess and demon. This is conceptualised and presented by Karuna Patil.
Additionally, the festival will feature an exquisite presentation of Gujarati folk dances, including ‘Dang,’ ‘Bhavai,’ and ‘Dakla,’ performed by twelve talented girls from the Zhanki Group of Garba and Folk. This vibrant showcase, blending traditional Gujarati music with the exuberance of Garba and folk dance, has been conceptualized and presented by Bhairavi Sachde.
Students from Nagaland, currently enrolled at the ‘Eshwarpuram’ institute in Phulgaon near Pune, will perform the traditional ‘Bambu Dance,’ a hallmark of the Naga tribal heritage. This evocative display of national unity, showcasing the rich tribal traditions of Nagaland, will be presented by Shubhangi Mehta.
Following this, the cultural segment titled ‘The Glory of Sarhad’ will highlight the remarkable contributions of the ‘Sarhad’ organization, which has dedicated the past 30 years to providing free accommodation, food, and education to the students from regions such as Jammu and Kashmir , Assam etc. The program will involve 30 students from Assam, Manipur, and Maharashtra, presenting a vibrant tableau of unity through diversity, under the choreography of Manzoor Bashir Rather.
In a stunning display of global unity, twenty-five students from twenty-one countries enrolled at Symbiosis International University, Pune, will present ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ an evocative dance performance embodying the spirit of international harmony. This performance will incorporate the diverse religions, languages, and cultural elements of countries including India, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bhutan, Brazil, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, France, The Gambia, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Mali, Morocco, Nepal, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Uzbekistan, and Zimbabwe, all expressed through a distinctive and unifying dance narrative. Coordinated by Rupali Chaudhari, this presentation promises to be a profound celebration of global diversity.
The cultural festivities will culminate with the ‘Rhythm of Lavani,’ a tribute to Maharashtra’s storied tradition of Lavani dance, featuring performances by actresses Sharvari Jamenis, Deepali Sayyad, Prajakta Gaikwad, Vaishnavi Patil, and Amruta Dhongde, alongside students from the Department of Dance and Choreography at Payalvrind Sanstha and D.Y. Patil School of Liberal Arts. Choreographed by Nikita Moghe, this segment promises an enthralling display of regional dance artistry.
The inauguration ceremony will be adeptly moderated by Yogesh Deshpande in Marathi and Apoorva Modak in English.

Jau Devachiya Gava: On Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 5:00 PM, the esteemed play ‘Jau Devachiya Gava,’ Mahanatya, on the life of Sant Shrestha Tukaram Maharaj, will be staged. Directed and written by Sanjay Bhosale, with Janardhan Chitode as the producer. It is composed by renowned music director Ashok Patki. The songs are by celebrity vocalists Suresh Wadkar, Anand Bhate, Devaki Pandit, and Tyagraj Khadilkar, with dance choreography by Mayur Vaidya, this presentation promises to be a profound cultural experience.
All India Mushaira: The Pune Festival has continuously evolved since last 36 years under the guidance of Honorable Mr. Sureshji Kalmadi (Ex MP). “Pune Festival” is a vibrant cultural festival which has become the symbolic spirit of National Integration. In this National event of a grand magnitude, Dr. P.A Inamdar University Pune is recognized by Govt of Maharashtra, hosting the All India Mushaira under the patronage of Dr. P. A. Inamdar, Chancellor, Dr. P.A. Inamdar University, Mrs. Abeda Inamdar is the Convener of this event. This Mushaira will be held on Saturday 14th September 2024 at 8:00 pm at the Ganesh Kala Krida Rangmanch, Nehru Stadium, Swargate, Pune. Hon’ble Salman Khurshid Alam, Former External Affairs Minister, Govt of India will be the Chief Guest & Hon’ble Imran Pratapgarhi, Member of Parliament & Chairman, AICC Minority Department will be the Guest of Honour.
Renowned poets from all over India such as Maroof Raibarelvi, Dr. Azm Shakiri, Shaista Sana – Bareley, Ahmed Kamal Hashmi -Kolkata, Rafique Sarwar – Malegaon, Shaheed Adili, Anees Shouq, Kashif Sayyed Bhiwandi and Vishal Bagh and others will participate in this Mushaira.
Hasyakallol Dhammal: On Sunday, September 15, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, ‘Hasyakallol Dhammal of Maharashtra’s Comedians’ will entertain with performances by actors Prasad Khandekar, Namrata Sambherao, Vanita Kharat, Priyadarshini Indalkar, Rasika Vengurlekar, Rohit Mane, and Prathamesh Sivalkar. The two-and-a-half-hour event will feature an orchestral band, singers, instrumentalists, and a narrator.
Miss Pune Festival Competition: The 10th iteration of the renowned Miss Pune Festival Competition will take place on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 6:00 PM. The competition, showcasing the attributes of young women, will culminate with the crowning of winners by the eminent singer and banker Mrs. Amruta Fadnavis. Among over 150 participants aged 18 to 28, 20 finalists have been meticulously selected and given specialized training, including in dentistry, hair, dermatology, dance, and photo shoots. The judging panel for last round includes actress Sania Chaudhary, School of Fashion Technology principal Garima Bhalla, fashion choreographer Chaitanya Gokhale, Actor Dhruv Datar and fashion photographer Ashwin Kodagul with Supriya Tamhane orchestrating the event and Jui Suhas is the show director and grooming mentor.
